is using the cross trainer in the gym an effective way of fat burning and increasing my fitness levels?
I have tried running and step machines and cycling etc, but the cross trainer is the only machine i really enjoy using in the gym. I'm worried that its not actually doing much for me though. What is the best way of burning up calories and getting fitter in the the gym?

- Don't use a gym ! Go for a run in the park - you burn a third more calories road running than you do using a treadmill - also whilst in the gym you will be breathing in other peoples sweat and fecal matter as they work out - not good! Kez x
- It does wonders for your cardiovascular health. Also you need to mix things up do a little bit for weights for getting your metabolisim up. Mix in a few jogs a week and a good diet and you are well on your way to a healthy fit lifestyle. good luck
- Yes it is but remember that at the same time you need the stretching so that your mussels should not get weeken. Its a good replacement of walk and jogging. Best of luck
- cross trainers are brilliant - they give a very similar motion and workout as running but without the excessive pounding on your joints they dont quite work you up as much because your not physically pushing your body weight down a street but... so long as your not making it too easy for yourself you will burn up the calories in no time well done and just keep it up =)
- you should not worry, with the crosstrainer you are getting a very good high cardio workout, that is burning those calouries. if you feel that is not enough, incorporate some weight training too, and mix it up with something else of your choice, that you enjoy. just remember any exercise is better than none. keep it up!!!!
